- 150 g 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 50 g 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg ≈50 g
- 120 ml 1/2 cup whole milk
- 30 g 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 250 g diced or coarsely grated apples about 2 medium apples
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon optional
- 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
- Oil spray avocado or light olive oil
- Glaze optional: 60 g powdered sugar + 1 tbsp lemon juice or milk
Prep apples & dry mix: Peel (optional) and finely dice or grate apples to measure 250 g. In a bowl whisk 150 g flour, 50 g sugar, 1 tsp baking powder and 1/4 tsp salt.
Make wet mix: In another bowl whisk 1 large egg, 120 ml milk, 30 g melted butter and 1 tsp vanilla.
Combine: Fold the wet into the dry until just combined; batter should be thick but spoonable. Fold in the apples and 1/2 tsp cinnamon if using.
Preheat: Preheat air fryer to 180°C / 356°F for 3 minutes.
Shape: Use a 2–3 tbsp scoop to portion batter into 8 fritters on perforated parchment or lightly greased basket, leaving space between each.
Oil & cook: Lightly spray each fritter with oil. Air fry at 180°C / 356°F for 8–12 minutes, flipping gently halfway (approx 4–6 minutes). Check for golden color.
Finish (optional): For extra crisp, increase to 200°C / 392°F for 1–2 minutes. Check internal temp — aim for 93°C / 200°F in the center.
Glaze & serve: Whisk 60 g powdered sugar with 1 tbsp lemon juice into a drizzleable glaze. Drizzle over warm fritters or dust with extra cinnamon sugar. Serve immediately.
