Ingredients

  • 2 steaks 200 g / 7 oz each, 1–1¼" thick
  • 16 large shrimp peeled & deveined (about 160 g total)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil divided
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt plus more to taste
  • ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter optional, for finishing
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges
  • Optional: 2 slices cooked turkey bacon chopped

Instructions

  • Bring steaks to room temp: Remove steaks from fridge 20–30 min; pat dry. Season both sides with ½ tsp kosher salt and ¼ tsp pepper, brush with 1 tsp olive oil.
  • Prep shrimp: Toss shrimp with 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp smoked paprika, ½ tsp garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Chill until ready.
  • Preheat air fryer: Preheat to 200°C / 390°F for 3–5 minutes.
  • Cook steaks: Place steaks in basket; air fry at 200°C / 390°F for 8–12 minutes depending on thickness (flip halfway). Use instant-read thermometer: 57°C / 135°F for medium-rare, 63°C / 145°F for medium. Rest steaks 5 minutes.
  • Cook shrimp: In the same preheated fryer, arrange shrimp in a single layer; air fry at 200°C / 390°F for 4–6 minutes, turning halfway. Shrimp are done at 63°C / 145°F or when opaque and firm.
  • Finish & serve: Slice steak against the grain, plate with shrimp, squeeze lemon, and optionally spoon melted butter over steak. Serve hot.
