- Chicken Breasts: 4 boneless, skinless
- Fresh Mushrooms: 2 cups
- Heavy Cream: 1 cup
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic: 3 cloves
- Chicken Broth: 1 cup
- Thyme: 1 teaspoon
- Salt and Pepper: to taste
- Parmesan Cheese optional: ¼ cup
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes per side.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
Add the remaining butter to the same skillet and sauté the garlic for 1-2 minutes.
Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes.
Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Add the heavy cream and stir, letting it simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer for another 5 minutes.
