- Asparagus: 1 bunch trimmed
- Butter: 3 tablespoons
- Garlic: 4 cloves minced
- Lemon: 1 juiced and zested
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Salt & pepper: To taste
- Crushed red pepper flakes: Optional
