Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp chili powder adjust to spice preference
  • ½ tsp ground coriander

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the full-fat Greek yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, and ginger-garlic paste. Stir well until smooth.
  • Add salt, turmeric, paprika, garam masala, cumin, coriander, and chili powder. Mix thoroughly to create a thick, flavorful marinade.
  • Place the chicken thighs or drumsticks in the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Use your hands or tongs to massage the marinade into the chicken for better absorption.
  • Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator. For deeper flavor, marinate overnight.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes. Lightly grease the air fryer basket to prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the marinated chicken pieces in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  • Cook at 375°F for 25 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through for even cooking.
  • Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. The chicken should reach 165°F (75°C). If needed, cook for a few more minutes.
  • For extra juiciness, baste the chicken with any remaining marinade or melted butter during the last few minutes of cooking.
  • Remove the chicken from the air fryer, garnish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon juice, and serve hot.
