For the Filling:
- 1 small onion diced
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or lamb
- 1 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 cup diced zucchini or mushrooms
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Topping:
- 1 medium head cauliflower cut into florets
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Steam or boil cauliflower until tender, then blend with butter, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Cook onion and garlic in a skillet until fragrant. Add ground meat and cook until browned.
Stir in tomato paste, broth, and seasonings. Simmer with vegetables until tender.
Spread meat mixture in a baking dish. Top with cauliflower mash and cheese
Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes, broiling for a golden crust if desired.
